Solid rock overlooking Appalachian mountains representing financial accountability, responsible stewardship, and a strong foundation at Mountain Heart Ministries.

Faithful Stewardship. Responsible Oversight.

Mountain Heart Ministries recognizes that every gift entrusted to this ministry represents someone’s generosity, sacrifice, and desire to help another person.

We take that responsibility seriously.

Our commitment is to use the resources entrusted to Mountain Heart Ministries carefully, responsibly, and in furtherance of our charitable mission.

Our Commitment to Financial Stewardship

Mountain Heart Ministries is committed to responsible financial practices and appropriate oversight of ministry funds.

As the ministry grows, our financial practices will include:

  • Maintaining accurate records of income and expenses
  • Keeping ministry funds separate from personal funds
  • Using donations for charitable and ministry purposes
  • Honoring donor restrictions on designated gifts
  • Providing appropriate Board oversight of financial matters
  • Maintaining supporting documentation for expenditures
  • Following applicable federal and state nonprofit requirements
  • Reviewing financial procedures as the ministry grows and its needs change

Every Dollar Has a Purpose

Our goal is not simply to raise money. It is to turn available resources into meaningful help for people and communities.

That means making thoughtful decisions about how funds are used, seeking community partnerships whenever possible, and looking for ways to make each donated dollar accomplish as much good as it reasonably can.

We believe good stewardship means asking not only:

“Can we help?”

but also:

“What is the wisest and most effective way to help?”

Oversight & Accountability

Mountain Heart Ministries is governed by a Board of Directors responsible for oversight of the organization’s mission, policies, programs, and financial activities.

Financial decisions are made with the understanding that charitable funds belong to the mission—not to any individual.

Potential conflicts of interest are addressed according to the ministry’s governing policies, and appropriate records are maintained to document financial transactions and organizational decisions.

Designated Gifts

When Mountain Heart Ministries accepts a donation designated for a specific charitable purpose or program, those funds will be used for that purpose in accordance with applicable requirements.

If circumstances make a particular designation impossible or no longer practical, the ministry will address the situation responsibly and in accordance with applicable law and donor restrictions.

Transparency as We Grow

Mountain Heart Ministries is a developing nonprofit ministry, and we believe transparency includes being truthful about where we are today.

As our programs, donations, staffing, and financial responsibilities grow, our accounting procedures and internal controls will grow with them.

We will not claim programs, financial certifications, ratings, audits, or accountability standards that we have not yet achieved.

Our goal is simple:

To handle every resource entrusted to Mountain Heart Ministries with integrity, wisdom, and care.

A Biblical Standard of Stewardship

“Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.”
— 1 Corinthians 4:2 (KJV)

For Mountain Heart Ministries, financial accountability is more than good business practice. It is part of faithful stewardship.
