Mountain Heart Ministries was founded with one purpose—to bring hope, practical assistance, and the love of Christ to families living in the mountains of Eastern Kentucky.

While the needs are great throughout Appalachia, we believe we can serve people best by focusing our efforts within a defined geographic area. By establishing clear boundaries, we can build meaningful relationships, understand local needs, and respond with wisdom and consistency.

Our goal is not to serve everyone.

Our goal is to serve our neighbors well.

Our Current Service Area

Mountain Heart Ministries currently serves the following Appalachian counties:

Why We Have Boundaries

The needs throughout Kentucky—and across our nation—are overwhelming.

From the very beginning, we recognized that trying to help everyone would eventually mean helping no one well.

By concentrating our efforts within a defined service area, we can:

• Respond more quickly to local needs.
• Build relationships with churches and community leaders.
• Work alongside existing ministries rather than duplicating their efforts.
• Develop long-term solutions instead of providing only temporary assistance.
• Be faithful stewards of every donation entrusted to us.

Our prayer is that other ministries will rise up and serve their own communities with the same heart.

By working together, we can help more people while honoring the work already being done throughout our communities.

If you live outside our current service area, we encourage you to contact local churches, community agencies, food pantries, and assistance organizations in your area.

Whenever possible, we will also try to connect you with resources that may be available closer to home.

Looking Toward the Future

This ministry began with one family’s love for the mountains of Eastern Kentucky.

We believe God often begins with small things and grows them over time.

As Mountain Heart Ministries expands, our desire is to extend this same model of compassionate, dignity-centered service to additional Appalachian communities—always one step at a time.
