White country church in the Appalachian mountains with the words “Statement of Faith.”

Faith at the Heart of Our Mission

Mountain Heart Ministries is a Christian ministry founded on faith in God, the truth of His Word, and the call to serve others with compassion.

Our faith is not separate from the work we do. It is the reason for the work we do.

We believe that caring for people in need, encouraging those who are struggling, and treating every person with dignity are practical expressions of our Christian faith.

“My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.”
1 John 3:18 (KJV)

What We Believe

The Bible

We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God and the foundation for Christian faith, truth, and conduct.

“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.”
2 Timothy 3:16 (KJV)

God

We believe in one God, the Creator of heaven and earth, and that He is sovereign, holy, just, merciful, and loving.

Jesus Christ

We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God, that He came into the world to reveal the Father, that He died for our sins, rose from the dead, and that salvation is found through Him.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
John 3:16 (KJV)

Salvation

We believe salvation is God’s gift of grace, received through faith in Jesus Christ, and not something that can be earned through good works.

We serve others not to earn God’s favor, but because His love calls us to love our neighbors.

Prayer

We believe in the power and importance of prayer.

Prayer is an essential part of Mountain Heart Ministries. We pray for the people and communities we serve, for wisdom in making decisions, and for God’s direction in the work of this ministry.

Faith in Action

We believe Christian faith should be visible in the way we treat people.

Jesus taught us to care for the hungry, the hurting, the forgotten, and those facing difficult circumstances.

For Mountain Heart Ministries, that means meeting people with compassion rather than judgment and offering help in a way that preserves their dignity.

It also means recognizing that sometimes a person’s greatest need isn’t financial.

Sometimes it is encouragement.

Sometimes it is an opportunity.

Sometimes it is knowing that someone cares.

And sometimes it is simply knowing they have not been forgotten.

Serving Our Neighbors

Mountain Heart Ministries serves people because they are our neighbors.

We do not believe compassion should depend upon a person’s background, social standing, or circumstances.

Our desire is to demonstrate the love of Christ through both our words and our actions while treating every person with kindness, dignity, and respect.

“And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.”
Matthew 22:39 (KJV)

Our Commitment

As Mountain Heart Ministries grows, our programs may change and expand, but the foundation of the ministry will remain the same.

We will seek God’s guidance.

We will strive to be faithful stewards of the resources entrusted to us.

We will treat the people we serve with dignity.

We will work alongside churches and community organizations whenever possible.

And we will remember that behind every request for assistance is a person whose life and story matter.

Hope for Today. Help for Tomorrow. Faith for the Journey.
